Dass gerade eines ihrer Konzerte Ziel eines Anschlags wurde, löste darum eine riesige Welle der Anteilnahme aus. Grande twitterte kurz nach dem Anschlag:

Derzeit ist Ariana Grande mit ihrem Album «Dangerous Woman» auf Tournee. Am 5. Juni wollte sie auch im Hallenstadion in Zürich auftreten. Nach dem Selbstmordanschlag in Manchester ist noch unklar, ob Grande ihre Konzertreihe fortsetzt.
Ihren grossen Durchbruch erlebte die in Boca Raton (Florida) geborene Schauspielerin und Sängerin 2014. Damals veröffentlichte sie zwei US-Nummer-Eins-Alben in einem Jahr und landete mit dem vier Millionen Mal verkauften «Problem» einen der Sommerhits des Jahres.
Da hatte sie schon eine steile Karriere im Unterhaltungsgeschäft hingelegt. Mit 15 stand das Mädchen mit den italienischen Wurzeln zum ersten Mal im Broadway-Musical «13» auf der Bühne, es folgten die TV-Serien «Victorious» und «Sam & Cat» auf dem Kindersender Nickelodeon, schliesslich der Einstieg in die Popkarriere.
Grande, bekannt für schillernde Auftritte in extravaganter Kleidung, ist vor allem bei Teenagern sehr beliebt; ihre Konzerte besuchen oftmals Kinder mit ihren Eltern.
