Kane on the flies: "There were a lot more than we thought. We had a lot of bug spray on, before the game, and at half-time. I got some (flies) in the eye, some in my mouth." #eng #WorldCup

2-1 well done England....Messi missed one penalty and the ref missed two...think the flies were in his eyes. #SackTheRef pic.twitter.com/yuVlfwGzLO

Bugger....now we have to listen to how England won despite the heat, flies and officials for days on end...
— Graeme (@Clantastic) 18. Juni 2018
Surely at this level England should have prepared for the flies.

Questions will be asked as to why they didn't ship in a load of flies for training, to replicate match conditions.#ENGTUN
The Sun are going to have a competition tomorrow in which you have to guess the number of flies swallowed by each England player.

What that?

What an unfortunate accident. pic.twitter.com/XGUWK6DvzI
England being attacked by flies is the cutest thing in the world
— Sairah (@FlickOfTheReus) 18. Juni 2018
It's absolutely absurd to have to play with all those flies. Why oh why have the #England players not been issued with goggles? #engtun #worldcup
