Doch gab Wawrinka in Wahrheit auf, um nach seiner Freundin zu sehen? Der Hintergrund: Nick Kyrgios ist gegen Wawrinka mit einem Satz in Rückstand, als er ihm nach einem Ballwechsel sagt: «Kokkinakis banged your girlfriend». Thanasi Kokkinakis ist ein 19-jähriger australischer Tennisprofi und damit gleich alt wie Wawrinkas Freundin Donna Vekic aus Kroatien.
Ob es daran liegt, dass Stan danach komplett den Faden verliert, auf einmal 7:6, 3:6 und 0:4 in Rückstand liegt und danach das Handtuch wirft?
Darauf angesprochen, was Kyrgios bei seinem Trash-Talk durch den Kopf gegangen sei, antwortet die Skandal-Nudel im Platzinterview: «Weisst du, er war etwas frech zu mir, es ging mir einfach durch den Kopf. Ich weiss überhaupt nichts, ich habe es einfach gesagt.» (zap)
