Immer wieder mal tauchen noch nie gesehene Marilyn-Monroe-Fotos auf. Und immer wieder sind sie wunderbar

Rund ein halbes Jahrhundert nach ihrem Tod ist Norma Jeane Baker, besser bekannt als Marilyn Monroe, weiterhin das bedeutendste Sexsymbol aller Zeiten. Und es tauchen immer noch unveröffentlichte Fotos der Leinwandgöttin auf. 

Obwohl es eine lange Zeit ist, erstaunt es gar nicht so – die Monroe gehörte zu den meistfotografierten Personen ihrer Zeit. Auch war sie während ihrer Zeit mit 20th Century Fox gehörig beschäftigt und stand für etliche Filme vor der Kamera. 

Und just aus dieser Zeit stammt die neuste Reihe Monroe-Fotos, die in der Ausstellung Marilyn: The Lost Photos zur Zeit in der New Yorker Sumo Gallery in Tribeca zu bewundern sind: Filmstills aus Bus Stop, Niagara oder River of No Return sowie Schnappschüsse von Promo-Events rund um ihre Filme.

The increbile images - which are valued at a staggering £57,000 by experts - were snapped by amateur photographer Lani Carlson in San Diego in 1952. He was working as a sound engineer at legendary crooner Ray Anthonys launch party for the hit song Marilyn, written by Ervin Drake and Jimmy Shirl. And as the showstopping Marilyn descended in a helicopter, the amateur snapper quickly used his new state-of-the-art camera to take these amazing images. In one shot Monroe can be seen posing for admirers in a vibrant pink cocktail dress in front of a giant sheet of music. Diese Fotos entstanden während eines Promo-Events zur Veröffentlichung des Songs Marilyn, gesungen von Ray Anthonys, in San Diego anno 1952 – die Monroe kam per Helikopter.
