Idyllischer geht es kaum: Die britische Stiftung National Trust sucht einen Mitarbeiter für die Verwaltung des Schlosses von St. Michael's Mount in Cornwall. Die ehemalige Abtei aus dem 12. Jahrhundert gilt als Gegenstück von Mont-Saint-Michel in der Normandie auf der anderen Seite des Ärmelkanals. Ähnlich wie bei der berühmten Gemeinde in Frankreich handelt es sich bei St. Michael's Mount um eine Erhebung im Watt, die bei Ebbe zu Fuss erreichbar ist.

Gesucht wird dort ein Castle Officer, wie es auf der Webseite der Touristenattraktion heisst, Dienstwohnung im Schloss inbegriffen. Zu den Aufgaben gehört es demnach unter anderem, die Sicherheit des Schlosses und der Gegenstände darin zu verantworten, Mitarbeiter anzuleiten und bei Reinigungsarbeiten Möbel zu verrücken und Bilder umzuhängen.

Wie viel Gehalt der neue Castle Officer bekommen wird, geht aus der Stellenausschreibung nicht hervor. Man habe Meerblick aus jedem Zimmer, versicherte Castle Steward Duncan Murdoch im Gespräch mit der BBC. Er warnte aber auch: «Man kann sich hier keine Pizza an die Türe liefern lassen, darauf sollte man sich einstellen.» (sda/dpa)
