Der Nationale Wetterdienst der USA hat die Warnung vor einem Blizzard für die Stadt New York aufgehoben. Für die Metropole bestehe die Gefahr eines schweren Schneesturms nicht mehr, hiess es am Dienstagmorgen (Ortszeit). Möglich sei aber immer noch ein Wintersturm. Nachdem New Yorks Bürgermeister Bill de Blasio gestern warnte: «Das ist wortwörtlich die Ruhe vor dem Sturm. Es wird bald losgehen – und zwar sehr schnell», verkroch sich die Millionenstadt vor dem herannahenden «Snowmageddon» – und erwachte heute Morgen einigermassen erstaunt.
Der «Rekordsturm» brachte vor allem in New York ein paar Zentimeter Schnee, ein zügiges Lüftchen – und sorgt nun vor allem für grosse Heiterkeit in den Sozialen Medien.
