Alea iacta est – die Würfel sind gefallen. Der 55-jährige konservative Politiker Boris Johnson ist neuer Premierminister Grossbritanniens. Das freut ihn, seine Partei, seine Anhänger und sorgt dafür, dass auch US-Präsident Donald Trump sich zu einem entzückten Tweet hinreissen lässt:

Am Mittwoch wird Johnson von Königin Elizabeth II. offiziell zum Premierminister ernannt, für Theresa May endet ein eher anstrengendes Polit-Kapitel.

Ein «politisches Erdbeben» sagte Heinz-Christian Strache für die Wahlen in Wien voraus. Er sollte recht behalten. Die österreichische Hauptstadt und mit ihr das ganze Land wurden am vergangenen Sonntag erschüttert. Das Beben verlief jedoch ganz anders, als es Strache vorhergesagt hatte.

Der Rechtspopulist verpasste mit seiner Liste den Einzug ins Wiener Parlament klar. Und die FPÖ, die Strache bis 2019 als Obmann angeführt hatte, büsste sagenhafte 24 Wählerprozente ein. Ein Absturz von 31 auf …
