Als Supermond bezeichnet wird ein Vollmond, wenn er sich nahe am nächsten Punkt auf der Umlaufbahn um die Erde befindet. Im Mai ist zudem auch die Bezeichnung Blumenmond (engl. flower moon) geläufig.
Einen Blutmond sehen (also eine Mondfinsternis während des Vollmonds) konnte man hingegen nur im Pazifikraum. In Europa beziehungsweise der Schweiz kam den Fotografierenden «nur» ein normalen Blumen-Vollmond vor die Linse.
