Letzte Woche plünderten Einbrecher ein Insektarium in Philadelphia. Sie entwendeten Insekten im Wert von ungefähr 50'000 Dollar. Seither werden im Stadtgebiet immer wieder Exemplare von der Polizei und Einwohnern gefunden. Wie viele noch fehlen, ist jedoch unbekannt.
Nebst dem Verlust von wertvollen Forschungs- und Bestaunungsobjekten das grösste Problem: Die Verzeichnisse wurden ebenfalls geklaut. Somit ist schwer abzuschätzen, wie viele der Spinnen, Kakerlaken, Tausendfüssler, Käfer, Ameisen und Gottesanbeterinnen noch auf freiem Fuss sind.

Nachdem das Internetportal Mother Nature Network publik gemacht hatte, dass unter anderem diese hochgiftige sechsäugige Spinne vermisst wird, flippte die Twitter-Gemeinde aus. Die Reaktionen der Nutzer sind herrlich.
